Not so cloudy day

When a site like twitter goes down, backup plans aren't available. Being out of the loop in the IT world means you become a dinosaur that much quicker. And when it's used as an only means of communication for real data, it's validity comes into question.

Why Twitter Will Endure http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/03/weekinreview/03carr.html It's a fad, like myspace and facebook. If anything, it might work because it's two syllables like goo-gle or ap-ple.

Please Verify Death

A real news company uses 2 independent sources to verify a story before running with it. It seems that with twitter and online news sources just run with a rumor. So it's slightly perverse that people are so willing to run with a morose story before they are willing to sit down and think about it first.
