amazon cloud player

I've been using the amazon cloud player for a few months now, and its a great service. The price points are better than iTunes, and no tax. My only complaint is that I would like to have an iphone app for it. It can be used in safari, but the small screen isn't that friendly, the ipad web app works great because of the real estate.

HB 56

http://motherjones.com/politics/2011/09/hb-56-alabama-immigration-law

Everyone wants the easy answer, but this is just a way to maginalize a group of people. This is the same type of "answer" but its been done before and it never works.

Cloud

They had sugar sync winning and dropbox with a mention. Personally, I think dropbox has the best options for both computer and mobile device. And sugar sync would be a slightly far number two.

More occupation

For some reason the local media isn't covering this, I guess there are more highschool football games to cover.

Anynomous

To admirers, the hacktivism trend reflects the increased importance of technology in more and more aspects of life. The net is now democratising both legitimate political expression and hacking in the same way it once democratised media, allowing anyone to blog or publish an electronic book.

These are just regular people, not heroes or monsters. They have ideals, and are raising awareness. They are real change, and are a movement that needs to occur in order to get people to pay attention.

Blogs

I find myself really using microblogs a lot more because that's how I've run this blog for years. At first I stayed away from twitter because of it's image, but the flexibility and usability make it very useful. Now it's a platform I can use to communicate with people I would not be able to otherwise.

Death Penalty

I'm against it competely, and yes only because 1 out of a million person might not be guilty. The idea of government sanctioned killing is disgusting regarless of the venue. The comedian David Feldman has the best quote regarding exection:

"The only solace in the execution of Troy Davis is it proves once and for all we're not a Christian nation."

Occupy Wall Street

https://occupywallst.org/

Where is the rage? Where is the anger? It's here, but it's desperately underpowered. I don't get how 'We all know' how the corporate media is feeding us an agenda, and we're ok with it. Groups of people have stood up and said no, but we need to do it as a country in order to be heard.

Redlight Camera

First of all read this article, it's better written than anything I could ever do:

http://www.houstonpress.com/2011-09-15/news/the-red-light-camera-circus/

I always knew it was about money and not safety. The skeptical meter goes off the charts when you see the comericals and the one out of a thousand web comments for the cameras. Hopefully this will oust the current administration, who acted iresponsibly at best.
